"Parenting is tough, he adds, but good parents represent the first line of defense against the sorts of adverse childhood experiences — things like abuse, neglect or witnessing domestic violence — that often spur long-term health problems, mental and physical.
“Even experienced parents can be really overwhelmed,” he said. And that’s particularly true for men, who tend not to get as much experience with kids as women until they end up a parent themselves."
