The Board of Directors of Nurturings, the newly-adopted identity of 27-year-old Attachment Parenting International (API), proudly welcomes new Executive Director, Artimesia (Art) Yuen.

She is passionate about the concerns of parents and has served as a parenting group leader in New York and mentor to many group leaders.
The breadth of her experience is unique as she has also successfully led annual appeals as the development director. She stays abreast of cutting-edge developments in the areas of positive childhood experiences and research that helps babies, children, and parents flourish.
The Board is deeply grateful for her leadership as we move forward with our new identity, Nurturings. Art lives in New York City with her husband and two children.
“We feel fortunate to have the organization enter its next phase in the hands of such a capable person as Art Yuen. We remain committed to our growth, continuing self-evaluation, and seamless communication about critical issues,” said Janet Jendron, President of the Board of Directors.
With the change in leadership, Samantha Gray has transitioned to serve on the Nurturings Board of Directors and support Art in her new role.
“No words can express our profound gratitude to Samantha for her 14 years of tireless service and dedication to API and parents throughout the world,” Jendron added. “Her leadership has led to growth of the organization, new services and programs, collaborations with countless other organizations and researchers, and preparation for this new direction.”
Samantha also continues to serve the parents in her community as the local parenting coordinator for Bristol’s Promise and is the executive director of Theatre Bristol. A minister's wife and mother of three, her family’s support "has been an inspiration," said Jendron.
The entire Board of Directors sees this as an exciting time for API and Nurturings. Serving families in today’s world has been a positive challenge to examine the organization’s efforts as it holds true to its mission for nearly 30 years. The Board embraces this opportunity to respond with fresh, creative, and relevant high-quality programs, support, services and collaborations.
The success of these transitions is made possible by the dedication of Board members, staff, parenting educators, health professionals and parents, and together furthers healthy family relationships.
