The secret to having it all
What does it even mean to have it all?
Of course, there is no single answer: "Having it all" means different things to different people. As parents, though, we might include some of these:
-holding the lifetime title of VIP for our child(ren)
-holding two opposing thoughts at the same time while juggling a wiggly nursing child and two bags of fragile, heavy, awkward things that cannot be dropped - and yes, still functioning
-deeply knowing that you belong to something bigger than yourself - that you and your contributions matter greatly to others
-being surrounded by people who know what you're going through, or can relate, and are there for you, care about you and have some of the most incredible advice that you would have never known about
-accomplishing more sleep and occasional showers
-creating and discovering family rituals that mark and savor the paradoxical endless seconds and eye-blink years of parenting young children
-giving back and paying forward the support you've received to the causes that sustain us on this beautiful journey
Here at API, we know that the secret to parenting is in taking off our shoes, pulling up a cozy seat and warm drink in a circle of other parents who welcome and "get" you. And have research to back up their support.
