Should Doctors Encourage Breastfeeding?
"On Tuesday, an expert panel suggests that doctors should provide breastfeeding support and guidance for new mothers. Ann Kurth, Dean of the Yale School of Nursing, said, “Breast-feeding has real health benefits for babies and their mothers. Primary care clinicians can help new moms who breast-feed be successful.” Breastfed babies are less likely to develop chronic health problems such as diabetes and are less likely to develop ear infections thanks to the antigens and other important parts of breastmilk. The Journal of the American Medical Association published the recommendation on Tuesday."
