Professional Outreach and Continuing Education

As part of API’s professional outreach program, Patricia Mackie, API’s Professional Liaison, met with the Fox Valley Institute, in Naperville, Illinois. She was invited to talk to their staff of 12 counselors and provide an hour of Continuing Education on Attachment Parenting. She quickly dispelled myths about Attachment Parenting, and the staff was excited to learn more about API and were overwhelmingly positive about the systemic approach that AP takes to the family. The counselors offered their own suggestions and tips on how to engage struggling parents, and the group discussed how API can continue to support parents where they are, welcoming the AP culture and helping parents who are struggling with striving for balance.
