Why it matters how we are born

Much of Western society chooses to view childbirth differences as merely a matter of personal choice. Rather, API encourages us to recognize this important beginning in both our child's life and our relationship with our child. Keeping this in mind, the first of API's Eight Principles of Parenting -- Prepare for pregnancy, birth, and parenting -- is a critical investment in our roles as mothers (and fathers).
