API Links gets some freshening up for this issue! It's still your API Links, where most of the resources you read by following this link.
We've wrapped up AP Month 2020 encouraging "Parenting with PeaCE," positive childhood experiences (PCEs), and the API Principles, and sharing about adverse childhood experiences (ACEs). We've shared many resources, (and hope you've found them helpful), but we are not quite finished yet!
We are very excited to bring you an interview with Becky Haas who is recognized nationally for her model work on trauma-informed care and ACEs, and Christina Bethell, PhD, for her leading work on positive childhood experiences. Watch for the video and blog interviews coming soon.
As we head into the end of 2020, it's the time of year we raise the funds needed to continue to support families around the world. We feel every day just how important connection, gentleness, compassion, and hugs are as we miss being near each other.
As we have learned this past month, already so many were suffering with high ACEs scores before COVID-19, so the challenges we face have only grown. Parents and professionals share that the parenting support and education API provides is vital.
We are grateful the Cole-Belin Education Foundation understands this, and very generously, they will be matching donations to API this year.
In addition to funds raised, we are fortunate that much of our work benefits from the passion of our volunteers. API welcomes our newest volunteers: Shams and Sandra! We also welcome and congratulate our newest parenting educators and group leaders.
We hope you stay safe and well. Let us know what you would find helpful to you, or perhaps how you are balancing life so we can share and help others.
In gratitude,
Attachment Parenting International
